This sfr test chart with a 3: 2 aspect ratio is the "easy" implementation of this standard. For most jobs, we recommend enhancing or expanding charts with additional edges for measuring performance near the image boundaries, as well as hyperbolic wedges and patches, wherever technically possible. These charts remain fully compliant.
Imatest Standard The ISO 12233: 2014 E-SFR chart is very similar to the ISO standard documents section 6.1 and the low contrast E-SFR test chart shown in Appendix C, with some differences, all of which are fully compliant with the ISO standard
Use 20 patch OECF grayscale * instead of 16 patch versions.
The focus pattern of the square center is rectangular (to increase the MTF measurement area) and is designed to reduce interference with automatic edge detection.
There are four registration marks, not three, for automatic area inspection. (Projection transformation requires four features.)
The additional mark above the lower left alignment mark is used to detect the direction of the chart.
All SineImage ISO 12233: 2014 E-SFR charts are fully ISO compliant. Imatest eSFR ISO module provides highly automated support for new charts.
SineImage ISO 12233: 2014 The E-SFR chart is an implementation of the Low-Contrast Edge SFR (E-SFR) test chart described in Section 6.1 and Appendix C of the ISO standard document. There are three versions of these charts:
Standard: Basic, no additional measurement functions
Enhance: Extra square, wedge, and color patterns when printing with color-tolerant technology
Extensions: Similar to enhancements, but with a 16: 9 aspect ratio for HDTVs and cinemas
We currently offer these chart inkjet formats, an enhanced version for photo printing. All SineImage ISO 12233: 2014 E-SFR charts are fully ISO compliant. Imatest eSFR ISO module provides highly automated support for new charts.
